Fresh Challenges from Level 31

Version 1.3 freshens up the higher levels, grows your coin rewards as you climb and fixes a few bugs.

Changes

• Levels 31 and up have been redesigned. They now mix butter kernels, sticky caramel and the cinema cup in new ways, with a tighter green zone as you go higher.
• Coin rewards grow as you reach higher levels, and higher levels are worth more points on the leaderboard.

Fixes

• Fixed the scene sometimes turning dark (a black table or a dark bucket) on some phones after the game had been in the background.
• Popcorn no longer looks burnt at 97%. Nothing looks burnt until you go past the red 100% line.
• The top of the fill meter is now a bright warning red.

Your level, coins and score carry over from v1.2. Have fun, and go for Perfect!

VERSION 1.2 · UPDATE

Leaderboard, Settings and Burnt Popcorn!

Version 1.2 is our biggest update yet: a settings menu, a helping hand for new players, a leaderboard of the top players, and a very smoky surprise for anyone who holds on too long!

Settings

• Tap the gear on the title screen or during play. Opening it pauses the game.
• Turn Music, Sound Effects, the Tutorial Hand and Vibration (Android) on or off. Your choices are remembered.
• Send Feedback: tell us about a bug, share an idea, or just say hi, right from the game. Name and email are optional.

Tutorial hand

• On the first levels, a friendly hand shows you how to press and hold, then points at the green band so you know when to let go. It also pops up if you wait a while before starting. You can switch it off in Settings.

Score and leaderboard

• Every level you pass now earns points: the fuller the bucket the better, plus a big bonus for a Perfect fill and extra points on harder levels. Your total score shows at the top of the screen and on the results screen.
• Leaderboard: see the top 50 players, with your own row highlighted.
• XOANA STUDIOS account: play as a Guest (saved on this device), or sign in or sign up with email, password and a display name. Signed-in players keep their progress on all their devices and post their scores to the leaderboard.

Burnt popcorn!

• Holding past the red line no longer stops the game straight away. The bucket keeps filling, the top of the pile turns brown, then black and smoky, then catches fire, and the smoke detector starts beeping!
• When the flames appear, the ceiling sprinklers switch on and put the fire out on the BURNT! result.
• Let go just over the line for an OVERFLOW, or keep holding for the full BURNT! experience. Normal play is just as forgiving as before.

Easier to Read, Plus Music and Sound

Thank you for playing Popcorn Popper! Version 1.1 makes the game easier to read and adds music and sound.

Easier to read

• The how-to lines on the title screen now sit on a clear, friendly panel so they are easy to read over the popcorn bucket.
• In-game hints now appear in a neat pill at the bottom of the screen and fit on one line.
• The sound button now works on the results screen too.

Music and sound

• Background music on the title screen and during play, plus sound effects for popping, overflows and wins.
• The sound button mutes everything, and the game remembers your choice next time.
